You can also try disabling wireless security altogether.įor streaming, I find TVersity better than WMP. Once set up though, everything should still work. This means that laptops won't be able to see the wireless under "search for wireless networks".
If that doesn't help enough, you can disabble SSID broadcasting in the router settings.
You need to look up the ports the PS3 uses. If it doesn't help, you can enable port forwarding on the router settings. This is a small security risk but oh well.
On linksys, this means going into the settings for "applications and gaming" (after you enter 192.168.1.1 on your PC browser, password may be "admin". Instead of using the IP you wrote down, choose a higher number like 192.168.1.125 - the "25" will be higher than the router assigns to other default devices like laptops that come and go. Copy down all the settings from the current wireless info, then assign them manually. For me, I wanted media streaming from my PC and had performance problems.įirst try to set up static IP on PS3. Don't simply blame the PS3 when the reality is that home networking is just a little more technical than most people think, it's not truly plug and play yet, that and wireless is another layer of difficulty. The loading times are so insignificant in this game.I've diagnosed some of my own PS3 wireless issues and have it running well. I recorded the same boss that I have been able to replicate hundreds of times down to the very last action on both consoles. The game is Pandemonium which I have been working on for 7 months now on a PS3 up until 2 months ago. I am debating whether or not to film my run on the PS2.
Thread title: I thought, and heard, for a very long time on this site that a PS2 will play PS1 games faster than a PS3 will. Is it better to run this on the PS2 or the PS3? The loading times are so insignificant in this game. Loading times for each level are never more than 7 seconds on the PS2 or the PS3 and the loading time at the end of each level to get back to the level select is never even a second(barely visible). The loading occurs only at the beginning of each level(21 times). It has 21 levels and each level goes for about ~1:20-2:00. It will go right under 40 minutes in this run
My question is, I think I know that the PS3 will produce the fastest time overall and I have evidence that suggests that, but when I look at SDA runs for verification and somebody comments stuff like "If the runner was using a PS2 the time would have been #:#." I mean whats going on here? The PS2 definitely feels and looks slower. I made sure to include the loading time before and after the level during the attempts I suppose I could upload it to be seen. I did this several times in several levels and the PS3 was always 2-3 seconds ahead even with the slower loading time. It was a fight about less than a minute, I never stopped moving and I ended the fight in the same spot with the same air time jumping in the exact same places both times. My findings were in fact that the levels loaded a little faster on the PS2, however the PS3 more than made up for this with smooth in-level gameplay that completely cut out framerate and lag issues that were present in the PS2 graphics.
